The Last Goodbye

For my Conversations series, I have crafted unique, one-of-a-kind sculptures by integrating found vintage glass or crystal ashtrays with cigarette or cigarillo buds made from clay, each hand-painted and signed. While these pieces evoke the grotesque aesthetic often associated with smoking, their true essence transcends that. They serve as metaphors for the complexity of human relationships—embodying conversations, dilemmas, heartbreaks, hope, and the excitement of a better future. Each sculpture invites the viewer to pause and reflect on the layered emotions and stories embedded within, challenging them to look beyond the obvious.

“ This is 19”, chaotic yet full, this piece mirrors the ceaseless curiosity and zest for life. It is an abstract graffiti-styled homage to a young a young man’s diverse interests and passions. With fluorescent hues, the piece embodies the exuberance of its muse. It revels in his myriad aspirations and love for life, providing an insight into his vivacious world. Visionary

“Visionary” places a pensive Sophia Loren at the periphery, her gaze reaching into the unoccupied canvas. With headscarf and glasses, she embodies a visionary, casting her sight into the unknown. Yet, is this her reflection or a mirror image of our own projections? This bold depiction confronts our tendency to idealize celebrities, posing a question: Are we seeing the visionary, or is she reflecting our vision back at us? Barbed Brigitte Bardot

My oil painting captures the classic beauty of Brigitte Bardot, an iconic symbol of femininity. Her blonde hair and long neck are juxtaposed with a stark image of barbed wire encircling her neck. This unsettling pairing probes the idea of beauty as a cage, a restriction. It's a critique on society's oppressive standards of femininity, asserting that beauty can be both a privilege and a constraint. “Grace Kelly: Pink as Fuck” presents the Hollywood icon enveloped in pink – from her gown and helmet to the background. The seemingly nonsensical addition of the helmet questions our need for profound symbolism in art. By drenching Kelly in an unreasonably pink context, I poke fun at our relentless search for meaning. This piece suggests that sometimes, a painting is just a painting, boldly defying the expectation that every artwork must carry a weighty message or intricate symbolism. Audrey: Piercing

In a daring reimagination, Audrey Hepburn stares defiantly, her face punctuated by modern piercings, her eye obscured by a patch. This bold portrait is a radical interruption to Hepburn's vintage elegance, asserting her relevance in contemporary discourse. Hepburn's piercing gaze invites viewers to confront their rigid notions of beauty and aging, urging them to envisage a world where grace is limitless and unconstrained by time. These goggles, an unexpected accessory, symbolize our complicity in perpetuating ageism and Hollywood's unyielding standards. Her open lips suggest a dialogue about visibility and the passage of time. By choosing Monroe, the eternal beauty, I demand viewers to confront their biases, championing the idea that allure is not held captive by time but persists undiminished. Oil on canvas. In 'Elizabeth Taylor: Hearing Aid', I confront the taboo of aging, challenging our discomfort with the decline of sensory faculties. Her glamorous attire and headphones represent a rebellion against ageism, asserting that beauty and relevance are not confined to youth. Embodying my anxieties as an artist, the fear of my work being seen merely as a color palette is starkly expressed. Is the tracksuit indicative of her desire to escape, or a longing for normalcy? This unconventional portrayal challenges our assumptions about Diana's identity, reminding us that beneath the royal exterior, she was an individual with her own struggles and desires, just as complex and human as the rest of us. David goes to Florida

“David goes to Florida” defies norms, revamping Michelangelo's icon with a playful yet defiant edge. Arm floaties and panties challenge the prudish censorship in schools, mocking the idea of art as pornography. The tattoos, 'Biology vs Theology' and a cross, delve into a contentious intersection of religion and transgender issues. This audacious portrayal demands viewers question their deep-seated prejudices about nudity, gender fluidity, and the free expression of art in an increasingly conservative society.
